Dr. Jim Falconer, OD, is an experienced optometrist who was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. He earned his Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from the New England College of Optometry in 1998. Before becoming an optometrist, Dr. Falconer completed a doctorate in biomedical imaging research at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, which provided him with a unique understanding of the scientific aspects of vision and eye health.
While Dr. Falconer is actively involved in diabetic community services and strives to make a positive impact on his patients' eye health, he sees patients at Sunshine Community Health Center's clinics on an occasional basis. As an OD, or optometrist, he is trained to examine, diagnose, and treat various eye conditions, prescribe corrective lenses, and offer pre- and post-operative care for eye surgeries.
