Sunshine Community Health Center (SCHC) is proud to announce our expansion plans at both our Talkeetna and Willow clinic locations. As we strive to improve access to healthcare and essential resources for our Northern Valley communities, we are embarking on several property development projects to meet the expanding social health needs of our patients.
A crucial aspect of this expansion involves acquiring heavy equipment to reach our goals effectively. SCHC proposes to purchase essential equipment tailored to improving and maintaining the sustainability of our efforts. This equipment will enable us to undertake road development, mandated fireproofing, land maintenance for critical infrastructure, trenching, excavation, and other necessary tasks. By owning this equipment, we aim to reduce operational costs, enhance efficiency, and address both current and future needs more effectively.
The narrow window for renting specialized equipment due to road restrictions poses challenges that hinder our operational efforts. However, with our equipment, we will have greater flexibility to overcome these obstacles. Moreover, it will enable us to develop specific Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) initiatives, such as building community gardens, preparing sites for community water stations, and better maintaining clinic parking areas for accessibility. Additionally, we plan to extend access to the equipment to other area non-profit organizations to support their community expansion efforts.
