Joy believes that meaningful growth begins with a trusting therapeutic relationship. She uses a strengths-based, client-centered approach that emphasizes empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based practices to help children and teens build resilience, confidence, and healthy coping skills.

Working alongside students and their families, Joy helps identify individual strengths, navigate challenges, and develop practical strategies that promote lasting emotional well-being. She is committed to creating a welcoming, supportive environment where every client feels safe, heard, respected, and valued.

Why Community Health Matters

Joy is honored to serve students and families through Sunshine Community Health Center's school-based behavioral health program. She values the opportunity to partner with families, schools, and community members to expand access to quality behavioral health services and help young people thrive both inside and outside the classroom. She believes that by working together, communities can foster resilience, encourage healing, and support lifelong emotional wellness.

Life Outside the Clinic

Outside of work, Joy enjoys spending time with her family and cheering on her children as a devoted hockey and soccer mom. She loves reading, exploring Alaska's beautiful outdoors, and keeping up with her energetic dogs. Grateful to call Alaska home, Joy appreciates the strong sense of community and the opportunities to enjoy the natural beauty that make Alaska such a special place to live.
