Layla Micheli, LPN, is a dedicated and compassionate nurse whose journey with Sunshine Community Health Center began as a medical assistant. Under the guidance and encouragement of Duronda Twigg, RN, BSN, Layla was inspired to pursue her nursing degree. After stepping away for a few years to further her education, Layla has returned full-time, bringing her skills and enthusiasm back to the SCHC family.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Layla plays a key role in patient care. Her responsibilities include conducting wound care, performing Medicare Annual Wellness Visits, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and educating patients about their care plans. Layla also steps in wherever needed on the clinical floor and leads daily huddles, where teams collaborate to review and prepare for patient needs before appointments.
Beyond her nursing career, Layla has found passion and purpose in the art world. Initially taking up painting as a therapeutic outlet to reduce stress and anxiety, she fell in love with the creative process. This led to the launch of her side business, Layla's Freestyle Fluid Art, where her vibrant pieces now decorate the clinic walls, adding warmth and beauty to the space.
Taking her artistic journey even further, Layla became a certified in art therapy and has begun teaching painting classes. Through her workshops, she encourages others to explore art as a resource for improving overall health and well-being.
Layla’s unique blend of clinical expertise and creative expression makes her an invaluable asset to the Sunshine Community Health Center team and a true inspiration to those she serves.
